“Elegante, perbene. Dietro quella facciata austera c’è una prorompente vitalità, un cuore pulsante creativo e frizzante che ne fa una città unica e diversa dal resto d’Italia”.
“Elegant, respectable. Behind that austere facade there is a bursting vitality, a creative and sparkling heart that makes it a unique and different city from the rest of Italy “.
(Wall Street Journal)
Based on the Augusta Taurinorum, kept the typical Roman street grid. First Capital of Italy, office of first Italian Parliament. The City went through a very important Baroque architectural phase. Don’t miss the guided tours around the city discovering best Baroque examples.

Too often in the shade, in the past was considered like dormitory built around FIAT vehicle plants. People were coming in Torino hoping to find any kind of job for this car brand.

Industrial city, now many abandoned factories are great spot for some street photography.
In 2006 Torino shifted gear towards a growing popularity and tourism, during and after hosting the Olympics Winter Games. For every citizen is the year of The Change!

Old generations have been replaced by younger one, more “open” to foreign world. It is not rare meeting hundreds young guys in the theatre, in the many museums or just enjoying all together a sunny day lying under the sun in the parcs. The University and the Engineer Polytechnic are highly appreciated abroad and this encourages the arrival of hundreds students from all around the world. Entertainment and fun are guaranteed!
Doesn’t matter in which time you will plan to visit Torino. The Alps are the best spot for skiing in winter and offer breathtaking hiking in spring and summer.

Without going too far, just cross the Po river to find some fresh environment up of the hills during warmer summer days. On top of which is located the Basilica of Superga, famous for plane crash where most of “Great Torino Team” football players lost their lives. The best place to see the City from above as well as a romantic place during and after sunset.
In sunny and clear days is possible to admire the full extension of Alps mountains, covered by snow on winter, green and rocky during hot seasons.
Personally the Po river will always find a place in my heart. Reminds me sweat and fatigue during my rowing training, covered by bright snow in winter, amazing autumn trees’ color along the shore and a regenerating walk or run in the early spring heat.

Don’t worry if you get thirsty, dozens of Toret spread around the city will never leave you dry.

The main bridge is, without any doubt, the one that connect Gran Madre Church to Vittorio Square.

The only place where you can see the full square with its arcades… yes because is the biggest square with arcades in Europe. In the city center main roads, like Via Roma, are sided by arcades… km of arcades…. And there is a reason behind, very simple… if it rains you don’t get wet! The Royal Savoy family, indeed, made them build for raining days… The main shopping street is so traveled by hundreds people in every weather condition. Sooo Smart!

Proceeding our journey under the arcades following Via Po, which guide you from Vittorio Square to Castello Square, a must is the Mole Antonelliana within which there is the Museum of Cinema.

Please take the elevator to reach the top of the Mole and you will have speechless view with a little adrenaline moment during the lift ascent… I let you try to discover what I’m talking about! 🙂

The unmissable Egyptian museum completely reorganized and second in the world after Cairo.

The Palazzo Reale recently restored, for believers or not the Torino Cathedral will welcome you showing the place where The Holy Sindone is kept. But be careful because something is watching you….

Torino is not just architecture and religion, is also Magic. Many symbols and mysteries enfold the city. Many location and objects around the city represent the eternal war between black and white magic. A tour will drive deep inside esotericism and masonry legends, some of them closer to reality than what you expect. Try as well to look in the same direction as Madonna’s statue outside main entrance of Gran Madre Church. She is holding in her hand the Cup of Holy Grail, maybe you will discover where it is hidden. The overall atmosphere makes everything so real and perceptible expecially as the sun goes down.

Let yourself be dazzled by the intense blue light of the Monte of Capuccini. Trust me prepare your camera, because from there the view on the Mole and bright Vittorio Square is perfect.
If you think you would need luck, step this bull “between his back legs ;)” and good luck will knock on your door.

And why not, for a pure sweet break, the Bicerin is your drink. A mix of coffe, cream and chocolate. Get tempted as well by Gianduiotto, the typical chocolate from Torino.

Briefly I can tell you without modesty….
Torino doesn’t need to rises its voice,
Torino doesn’t need to be showy,
Torino is reserved, apparently not too friendly,
Torino is accurate and organized,
Torino just know being a step ahead….
