After lockdown, bad weather and other problems, our desire to camping somewhere was so big that in the early morning we started the engine of our Toyota, direction to Thun. Thanks to the parents’ advise we first visited this nice Swiss city. Situated in Oberland region, this pretty city seems lively and deserve some hours spent walking up to the castle, along the river and in the very clean and organized city center. It is really colorful place, full of flowers, green areas, and so clear water make you desire to jump into the lake!

After short visit to the castle and church up of the hill, we spent few minutes making some nice photos from the church’s garden from which the view of lake and mountains is amazing.

The river is crossed by wooden old bridges which work also like water barrier and create nice waves that are really appreciated by surfers.
Enjoy your drive then along the lake direction to Interlaken. There are many nice areas where to have a picnic or just for lying under the sun.
We would suggest you to plan a stop at St. Beatus Cave (https://www.beatushoehlen.swiss/en/). Explore the unique cave system and immerse yourself in a fairytale environment of stone and water. You can reach the entrance to the caves walking up to main entrance using a very suggestive path that takes you from the car park. Along the way, you’ll cross several bridges over the waterfall.

Don’t forget to wear something warm because inside the cave temperature stays around 10°. During your cave’s exploring you can find many screens which give you some information about the history and places’ names into the cave. Reaching the end of the cave will take you around 25 minutes , you go really deep inside the mountain. So wet but also so beautiful place to visit.
Expect to spend around 2 hours ( expecially for parking toll ). Was late afternoon and we had to got our camping in Lauterbrunnen Valley. On our way we bought few beers, anyone would want a fresh beer after an hot day.
We’ve chosen the camping Breithorn (https://campingbreithorn.ch/) and once we got there we understood we did the right choice. So peaceful and clean. The owners are very kind people. There is also a small food market into the camping.
We prepared our “camperized” Toyota Rav4 for the night and……Time to chill drinking our beers!!!

Rice for dinner and a long walk into the valley as it was getting dark. So quite and relaxing place! Turly Amazing!

Early morning, the alarm rings and for us was time to have our breakfast, re-organize the car and move to Lauterbrunnen famous waterfall.

A short and easy climbing will bring you to a wet and slippery path carved out of the rock which leads you behind the waterfall. Great place to take some photo and selfie!

Meanwhile we were looking for what to do and see in Interlaken, google show us apanoramic terrace called Harder Kulm (https://www.jungfrau.ch/de-ch/harder-kulm/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw3Nv3BRC8ARIsAPh8hgKCNbZ6Nn23jg0dbTmwURjinUGHANCfgeKm1MGKGMW_YJnarAlG97AaApKyEALw_wcB).
One of the most panoramic terrace around Europe. To get the top where is located also a restaurant, there are 2 ways. For sporty people is around 2 h 30 min hiking, the relaxed way is the funicular Harder Railway (https://www.jungfrau.ch/en-gb/arrival-at-station-car-parks/harder-railway-valley-station/). A bit expensive if you don’t have any discout price because return way is 40CHF each person. Anyway the view up there worth part of the expense. 😉

Already afternoon was time for our lunch, we found a comfortable bench along the river close to funicular lower station.
On he way back home to Geneva, we’ve driven through amazing Alps mountains stopping sometimes to take some good shot of the amazing view.

Breathing the best fresh air and empty our mind getting ready for the next week.
