Ticino is a paradise for those who loves outdoors and have weekends reserved to get out and explore. Not only inside Ticino but places that easily reachable from Ticino makes me think of how lucky we are living in this place.
This time we will take you to Lago di Saesao.
Lago di Saoseo is a lake in the Val da Camp, a valley in the Poschiavo region of the Grisons, Switzerland. We planned a beautiful trip on a sunny Saturday in July. From Ticino to the region Grison, there are the most beautiful mountain passes with the most incredible breathtaking views.
First we made it to S. Bernardino pass. Here it was incredible in winter time as well. It was fully covered with snow and the lake here was completely frozen. Seeing it in the middle of July was unbelievable with all the green and charm.
Winter 
After having a little pause in this view with some sweets that we bought from a local bakery there. We continued our trip on the direction to the Julierpass. We did several stops to enjoy as many as views we can.
Each time we left our heart in a place that we have seen there, thinking no where will be this calming and beautiful. But these passes do really surprise you and it gets better and better.
Here we made it to Julierpass and it was the perfect spot for a little lunch. If you are someone who loves outdoors, you will feel me when I say; the food tastes better outdoors with the mountains on the background.
We stayed here almost one hour, we enjoyed the sunny but windy mountain weather with the most delicious tasty sandwiches.
This time we were on our way to Bernina pass and we have seen something incredible there! The sky was full of kites of the surfers. I get real excited when I see surfers and these time it was hundreds of them. I asked Ste to drive closer to the lake and I jumped out of the car to get even closer to watch them front row.
After having the pleasure of watching this surf competition, we continued our trip and finally made it to last pass before final destination, Bernina pass!
Here there was another surprise waiting for us. A reunion of old school WOS.
We did a quick stop to see these incredible machines that never getting out of fashion. Our smiles tell a lot about how we felt after making a tour between them! Happy happy happy!
We spent the night at a campsite. It was a small but real cute area offering an incredible lake view. Camping Cavresc.
We took only a short walk as it was getting darker after our camp dinner. ( Again exteremely tasteful! )
We spent the evening drinking our tea and planing for the next day! And no doubt we went to sleep with a smile on our faces that night. It was finally the day to hike to beautiful Saesao!
Waking up in a campsite is always an exciting feeling. Until now in all the campsites we stayed, everyone we met have been extremely calm and kind people. For this, I can’t tell you enough how it makes me feel opening my eyes on a campsite and watching the mountains with a cup of coffee in hand.
In the late morning we started our hiking to Saesao lake. It is around 4,5 km from the carpark. The path is mostly flat and easy to do. I believe photos will speak better than I can ever describe.
Finally we made it to Lago di Saesao!! And it is much more than what we have seen from the photos! It was incredible, it was a happy little lake with so much details! Offers a unique landscape with incredible hiking trails on the way.
The Lago di Saoseo shimmers like an optical illusion, its waters a vivid, luminescent cobalt-blue.
